Have you ever experienced the elation of family and friends who are celebrating the arrival of a new born baby? The love they have for the precious little one is nearly palpable. And, yet, the baby is oblivious—totally unaware of the love others are experiencing as the result of their presence.
In time, the love of others will become increasingly apparent through spoken words of affirmation, comfort and affection, and acts of loving kindness.
As God’s child, are you fully aware of His love for you?
In Jeremiah 31:3 the Bible records the Lord saying to His people, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”
Romans 5:8 tells us that God demonstrated his own love for us in this statement: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Although the love a parent has for his or her child is very precious, there is no greater demonstration of love in history than Christ’s love for us. God gives His love freely without reservation or obligation. God’s love is void of restraint or condition and is everlasting. God’s love never fails.
God lavishes His love on us so that we should be called children of God (1 John 3:1).
Do you recognize God’s love as unconditional? Have you personally accepted His love?
Although God’s love cannot be measured, a child will experience an increasing measure of His abiding peace, security, assurance, and confidence as he or she walks in His love.
